Town is flat. The hills still watch you from every road end. Hill Cart Road, NH 110, begins its long haul to Darjeeling on the north side, while Sevoke Road makes for the Teesta and Coronation Bridge. So decide early whether today is a plains day or a climbing day.
People ride 4 to 14 km among the Tenzing Norgay bus terminus, the P.C. Mittal terminus on Sevoke Road, Matigara and the colonies across the Mahananda. Sukna, 12 km out, is the way into the Mahananda wildlife sanctuary. Freight rolls along NH 27 and NH 10, so take service roads.
June to September does the heavy lifting: about 80 per cent of the 3,011 mm yearly rain, with July alone near 800 mm. Roads stay slick, so protect the battery contacts from water.

Darjeeling is roughly 77 km off and above 2,000 m, which is more than one battery supplies. Geared models can tackle short climbs to the first viewpoints, but the whole trip needs a charging stop.
The pack is made for rain. Just keep it out of standing water, wipe it after rides, and charge it only when it's dry. About 3,011 mm falls a year, mostly June to September.
About 8 to 10 km depending on route. Any EMotorad commuter does it and still has charge left for the return.
