Electric Cycles in Ghaziabad
A 2.5 m cycle track runs on each side of the Delhi-Meerut highway up to Dasna, a decent start for an e-cycle in Ghaziabad. Most housing societies sit 3 to 6 km from a metro station, so pedal to Kaushambi or Vaishali and let the Blue Line take over.

Trans-Hindon, Cis-Hindon and the road to Dasna
Think of two clusters. Trans-Hindon, to the west, is apartment after apartment: Indirapuram, Vaishali, Vasundhara and Kaushambi, a few minutes from the Delhi and Noida borders. Cis-Hindon is the older half, with the station, the Red Line's last stop at Shaheed Sthal, Kavi Nagar, Raj Nagar and the towers going up at Raj Nagar Extension.
The Delhi-Meerut highway holds it together. From Delhi to Dasna it was stretched to 14 lanes and given a cycle track 2.5 m wide on each side. If you're heading for Dasna, Vijay Nagar or UP Gate, you've got a marked space instead of a scrap for the left lane. Parked cars sometimes sit in it, and so do scooters. Still better than most NCR arterials.
Stations give you a destination. Kaushambi and Vaishali are both on the Blue Line. The Red Line covers Cis-Hindon. Namo Bharat first ran between Sahibabad and Duhai in October 2023, and today it goes all the way from Delhi to Meerut. Most housing societies have a station within a 3 to 6 km ride.
A note on weather data: IMD publishes no normals for Ghaziabad, and the district administration says conditions track Delhi's. Delhi's Safdarjung records show 39.9 °C highs in May and about 774 mm of rain a year, mostly July and August. Winter's the bigger deal. Smog and fog roll in during December and January, so wear a mask when the AQI is ugly, and keep your lights on.

Electric cycles in Ghaziabad: FAQs
Yes. Between Delhi and Dasna there's a 2.5 m track on each side, and since a pedal-assist e-cycle counts as a bicycle in law, that's where you belong. Near UP Gate and Vijay Nagar, watch for parked cars and scooters creeping onto it.
Around 5 to 7 km depending on where in Indirapuram you start. Expect 20 to 30 minutes on level roads. IT and back-office staff do it every day.
No. Uttar Pradesh's EV policy subsidises electric two-wheelers, three-wheelers, cars, goods carriers and buses. E-cycles aren't on that list.
That's up to you. Many riders switch to the metro on the very worst days. On other days, assist keeps your breathing easier than on a plain cycle, and a snug mask plus lights for morning fog help.
No. A pedal-assist e-cycle with a motor up to 250 W and assisted speed capped at 25 km/h isn't a motor vehicle under CMVR rule 2(u), so no licence, registration or insurance is required.
Yes. Sahibabad, Ghaziabad and Duhai stations are in the district. Ride a few kilometres, park, and take the train towards Delhi or Meerut. At rush hour, that beats driving all the way.
