EMotorad Warranty Policy (United Kingdom)

EMotorad Warranty Policy (United Kingdom)

Last updated: 23 September 2026

At EMotorad, our first guiding principle is ‘The Rider is the Boss’. We stand behind every e-bike we sell, and our warranty is built to back that up.

This warranty is in addition to your legal rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. Nothing in this policy reduces those rights. For more on your statutory rights, visit Citizens Advice.

Register your e-bike

Please register your e-bike at emotorad.com/uk within 14 days of delivery. Registering helps us find your order quickly and handle claims faster. It also activates the extra year on your motor and battery.

What’s covered

  • Frames are covered against structural defects in materials or workmanship: lifetime for aluminium alloy frames, five years for steel frames.
  • The motor and battery are covered for 1 year, plus 1 extra year when you register your e-bike.
  • The controller is covered for 12 months from delivery.
  • Paintwork and specified EMotorad-branded parts are covered for 1 year, excluding accidental or deliberate damage.
  • The warranty applies to the original purchaser and needs proof of purchase.
  • Accessories such as helmets, locks and pumps are not covered by this policy. Your statutory rights still apply to them.

All periods run from the date your e-bike was delivered to you, or the date you collected it from a retailer.

These include handlebars, stem, bearings, drivetrain, brakes and brake pads, cables and housings, tyres, tubes, rims, wheels, hubs, saddle, seat post, clamps, grips, headset, pedals, bottom bracket and mudguards. Normal wear and tear on these parts is not a defect.

Your first 30 days

If your e-bike has a fault within 30 days of delivery, you can reject it for a full refund, or ask for a repair or replacement.

After 30 days

If a part fails because of a defect in materials or workmanship within its warranty period, we will repair or replace it free of charge. This includes parts, labour and any collection or return shipping we arrange. We may replace a part with an equivalent or better part if the original is no longer available.

If a repair or replacement doesn’t fix the problem, you may be entitled to a price reduction or refund under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

How to make a claim

  1. Email uk@emotorad.com or call +44 7877 314071.
  2. Share your order number or a copy of your invoice, your frame number, and photos or a short video of the issue.
  3. Our UK team will assess the claim and arrange a repair, replacement, collection or a visit to an authorised service partner.
  4. Replaced parts become EMotorad’s property and may need to be returned to us.

Keeping your e-bike in good shape

Please follow the service schedule in your user manual. Regular checks help spot cracks, cable damage, corrosion or wear early and keep you safe on the road. Lithium-ion batteries lose some capacity with age, so range per charge will reduce over time. See the battery ageing table below.

What’s not covered

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear on parts like tyres, brake pads, chains, cables and grips
  • Damage from accidents, misuse, neglect, fire, flood or other events outside our control
  • Repairs or servicing carried out by anyone other than EMotorad or an authorised service partner, where that work caused the fault
  • Riding above the maximum load stated in your model’s user manual
  • Stunts, jumps, racing, BMX, dirt or off-road use your model isn’t designed for
  • Modifications to the frame, fork or components, or aftermarket parts added to boost speed, power or performance
  • Changing the speed or power settings in the display or controller. UK law limits e-bikes (EAPCs) to 250W and 15.5 mph (25 km/h) of assistance. Tampering can make your e-bike illegal to ride on public roads.
  • A serial or frame number that has been removed, altered or defaced
  • Fading of paint, stickers or plastic parts from sunlight
  • Commercial use, such as rental or delivery fleets, unless agreed with us in writing

Battery care

The battery warranty does not cover damage caused by:

  • Impacts, punctures or cracks
  • Opening, modifying or repairing the battery pack yourself
  • Using a charger that isn’t the original EMotorad charger
  • Power surges
  • Storing or using the battery in extreme heat or cold
  • Submerging it in water or long exposure to wet, humid or dusty conditions
  • Short-circuiting the terminals
  • Using the battery in any other product

Your battery is built for your specific EMotorad model. Please don’t use it for anything else.

Expected range

0–12

80–100% of stated range

13–18

70–80% of stated range

19–24

60–70% of stated range

Range depends on rider weight, cargo, tyre pressure, hills, road surface, weather and riding style. Stated range is based on a well-maintained e-bike on mostly flat roads.

Damage in delivery

Please check the box and your e-bike when it arrives. If anything is damaged, take photos and tell us within 48 hours at uk@emotorad.com so we can sort it quickly. This doesn’t affect your legal rights if a fault shows up later.

How to register

  1. Find your frame number. It’s usually on the frame near the crankset or at the rear.
  2. Keep your invoice or order confirmation handy.
  3. Go to emotorad.com/uk and open Warranty Registration.
  4. Fill in your name, email, phone number, model, frame number, where you bought it and your invoice number, and upload your invoice.
  5. Check your details and submit. You’ll get a confirmation email.

Legal

This warranty is offered by EMotorad UK. It is governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can bring a claim in your local courts. We may update this policy from time to time. Changes won’t affect e-bikes bought before the update. Nothing in this policy limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or affects your statutory rights.
