How we started
EMotorad began in 2020 with four people and one belief. Electric bikes should be practical, aspirational and genuinely affordable. Europe has been home from day one. We design, test and support every bike from our base just outside Barcelona. Each one is built for European roads and the way people here actually ride. Six years on, you'll find us at Decathlon and on the shelves of Worten, Bicimarket, Carrefour and Orange.

Here’s how we got here.
- 2020
The First Step
One workshop and one idea. Make good electric bikes an everyday choice for everyday riders. Our first models reached riders that same year.
- 2021
First Seed Investment
We raised a $3Mn seed round and put it straight into better bikes and wider reach across Europe.

- 2022
Expanding across Europe
Production grew to around 90,000 e-bikes a year. Our European retail network grew right alongside it.
- 2023
Next Wave of Scale
A $20Mn Series B led by Institutional Investors helped us move faster on new models and new markets.
- 2024
Manufacturing Reached a New Scale
We opened our own integrated e-bike gigafactory with capacity for 500,000 bikes a year. More of every bike is now made in-house, which means tighter control over quality.
- 2026
Six Years In, The Next Climb
Today we make bikes for commuting, leisure, fitness and kids. We ride across 18+ countries with 800+ retail partners, and picked up a Guinness World Record along the way.
