Think of tyre pressure as the foundation of the ride. If it’s off—even just a little—it shows up in how the cycle handles, how smooth (or bumpy) the ride feels, and how long the tyres last.

1. Grip and Traction

Always remember, the tyre making proper contact with the ground gives you great grip. Pressure that is too high will make your tyre too firm, which will cause it to lose its traction, especially in wet conditions.

  • Road cycles thrive on high pressure—anywhere between 80–130 PSI—for fast rolling and minimal resistance.

Tyre Width
